About Our Great Nation

Sakkari is a micronation project which began December of 2024 by artist, author, and internet personality Empress Mewko. Sakkari is a neoculture and a unitary state which consists of over 200 permanent residents, a government administrative body, a national language known as Sakanura, a national religion known as Komiaida, and a cultural identity rooted in memorabilia, traditions, holidays, legends, and traditional clothing. 

Sakkari is a group cultural project, meaning that anyone is welcome to join and contribute to the development of this new nation.

Sakkari is a micronation which operates in the online space rather than having a defined territory, which means that Sakkari does not partake in the exploitation of resources and the ethnic cleansing of people and their homes.

We, Sakkari, a nation built on peace and prosperity, will return to our roots and reach our true enlightenment beyond the brewing new world order, we will transcend our earthly desires and free ourselves from the monetary and nationalistic constraints which have led our ancestors to become forgotten in time. 

Sakkari is a foundation for creativity, a community for anyone who has felt lost or disconnected from the world around them, a home in which anyone can build and create within. Sakkari is the New World, Sakkari is the way, the truth, and the light. Sakkari will discover a new way of life, a new way of thought, a new way of order; Sakkari will cleanse the soul.

Sakkari was born thorugh a desire for change and community. In the state of an ever-changing world, where hope for the future is all but forgotten, we shall no longer wait in the sorrows of an impending doomsday; instead, we will pride ourselves and the generations after us to find joy in the the beauty of the mundance, the traditional, the creative, and the trivial. From this desire, our maxim was born, "The Path of Peace", and by that maxim we will live to serve others, to serve our earth, and to enlighten ourselves.

In a bamboo forest, the Masari tiger sits aside a flowing spring in hopes that the Red Janji Boar makes a trip to the pond for a drink.

The local village fishermen throw out traps for wild salmon. The old, wizened men atop high stilted homes wipe their brow with a wise sigh to the harmonic cicadas fizzling in the deep Taemian forests. 

Out hops a catfish from the warm, salty river, and back in he dives, and a neighboring vender, Sir Jeon, clicks his teeth at the thing's blissful ignorance. 

Perhaps, my cat will eat him tonight. Or maybe, I will.
